INSTRUCTIONS

Final Project
For our third and final project, we were to animate an action scene such as fighting or being chased.

Storyboard Planning

My biggest inspiration of my storyboard planning is Shanks from One Piece. I even managed to find the Gryphon sword he used on Sketchfab. I also downloaded a tavern diorama there as it comes with assets I can edit and interact with.

Before I start to animate, I learned about using Object Constraint, in order to attach the sword to Snow's hand. I tried using Bone but no matter how many tutorials on Youtube I watched, I don't understand at all.

Fig 1.3 Child Of

By using Object Constraint, I set the Gryphon to be the Child of the wrist. However, this is not really a viable solution for a long animation because if I turn the wrist too much, it would be distorted.

Thus, my solution to the problem is to split the animation into four parts. I also learned how to use two cameras in a file to change perspectives.

PART 1
The first part is when he walked into the tavern.

PART 2
The second part is when he pulled out the Gryphon.

Fig 1.5 Part 2
PART 3
The third part is when he raised the Gryphon.

PART 4
The fourth part is he knocked down the table and entered a fighting stance.

After that, I added lip syncing and add sound effects.

REFLECTION
As always, I got too ambitious. I felt that I could do more, I wanted to do more. But time waits for no man. It's frustrating enough to switch between four files and the disadvantage of using object constraint as described earlier. Hopefully the final submission is worth the weight.
