Fig 1.3 shows a reference for a sneaking animation that I decided to do for my Attitude Walk.
ATTEMPT 1
Fig 1.4 Vanilla Walk Cycle Blender, Week 7 (5.11.2024)
Fig 1.5 Sneak Walk Cycle Blender, Week 7 (5.11.2024)
FIRST SUBMISSION
ATTEMPT 2
After some feedback, I decided to make some minor changes to the Vanilla Walk cycle and redo Attitude Walk.
Fig 1.6 Vanilla Walk Cycle Blender, Week 8 (12.11.2024)
Fig 1.7 Sneak Walk Cycle Blender, Week 8 (12.11.2024)
Small changes in the Vanilla Walk include retracting the arms a bit and deleting some frames in the Graph Editor. But for the Sneak Walk, I followed the reference but I turned his hips left and right so his body would be less robotic. I also changed the camera position is show it.
FINAL SUBMISSION
Week 7
Specific Feedback: Pacing is good. Hands should be to the hips and less stretchy.
REFLECTION
REFLECTION
Animating this project makes me appreciate the animation industry more. For me, it's tough, and it's just a walk cycle. It's all pacing and movement being realistic, even for a cartoon character. I did toughen up and asked the lecturer for feedback after class, but I find it troubling to go back and redo the animation. I just wanna move on to another assignment. I wonder if all animators follow the same references.
