INSTRUCTIONS
Exercise 1: Bouncing Ball Series
Our very first exercise is to animate a series of balls bouncing based on
their physical property.
Starting from the smallest to the heaviest:
1. Ping Pong Ball
2. Beach Ball
3. Football
4. Bowling Ball
Fig 1.3 is in the video so I don't have to sketch it.
PING PONG
Beach ball bounces up slowly and low bounces before stopping.
FOOTBALL
Football is similar to Beach Ball but bounce lower and rolls forward a little before stopping.
I found these references from Pinterest, except for the last one. That's from a first-person shooter game.
It seems that when one is really happy, the body is stretched out wide like a T. I also a bit of yellow lighting - the colour of joy.
SAD
I'm making him look like he's about to fight someone, really shows off the anger. And then a bit of red lighting.
FEEBACK
Week 3
I like Exercise 3 because animating and posing characters is something I want to do in the future. I realised that the lecturer didn't have enough time to give feedback to all students and I'm too much of a lazy coward to ask for feedback myself after class, opting to go home immediately. Perhaps that's something I can improve in the future?
5. Squash & Stretch
Additionally, we have to animate one with squash & stretch.
REFERENCES
We were provided reference videos and were asked to observe the timing,
height, movement and number of bounces. I watched and planned out for the
movement each ball by drawing it on paper.

Ping pong has high energy, jumps high and bounces a few times on the spot
before stopping completely.

BOWLING BALL
Bowling Ball has low, little bounces and rolls forward a little before
stopping.

SQUASH & STRETCH
I chose football to apply squash & stretch. This is probably the hardest of the series to animate due to having to animate the rotation correctly. Sometimes, I would forget to save Movement, Location and Scale.

FINAL SUBMISSION
Exercise 2: Pendulum Swing
Our next exercise has us animating a pendulum.
I tried to be organized by using markers to know where to start, where to
stop and where the "tail" will swing and drag. It helps a little.
FINAL SUBMISSION
Exercise 3: Emotion Poses
Our third exercise starts with us downloading a rigged character named
Snow. We have to find references and animate these four emotions:
1. Happy
2. Sad
3. Angry
4. Scared
The emotions comes with the character, the important part is to animate
the body language.

I found these references from Pinterest, except for the last one. That's from a first-person shooter game.
I then observed each reference and drew a line of action over the
silhouette.

FINAL SUBMISSION
For our final submission of this exercise, we have to compile everything
into a PDF form.

Week 3
Specific Feedback: If the frames don't contribute to anything,
delete them. Must use and control bottom part as well, not just the top.
Week 4:
Specific Feedback: Submit one only. First one is good, the other
two not so. Timing is random and inconsistent. Fix timing, find the middle
and add drag.
General Feedback: Maps must be in the same folder with the character.
REFLECTION
General Feedback: Maps must be in the same folder with the character.
