Final Project: Game Audio
For our final project, we were given choices of gameplay videos without sound. Our job is to create record our own sounds, without using sound effect online.

I picked Hollow Knight because it looks interesting. I heard of the game, but never played it before so I'm going to create the sound effects blind.

TOP 5 SOUND CREATION
1. Umbrella - Used to create the sound of a bug's wing flapping. I was struggling to come up with a material until I opened my umbrella on the way home from school during a rainy day.

2. Paper Rips - There are multiple electrical orbs that act as deadly obstacles in game. I thought of ripping paper to shreds and then add Reverb to make it echo like lighting.

3. Keys - There are coins in the game to pick up. I tried shaking some coins but they don't feel loud enough, maybe because I didn't shake enough coins. So I jangle my keys for when the coins fall and the coins for the when the Knight pick up coins.

4. Badminton Racket - I used to play badminton so I know the "swoosh" sound it makes is perfect for the sword attack.

5. Fan - It was a last minute decision to add ambience. So I recorded the sound of my spinning fan, added Echo and slowed it down.

TRACKS

I first edited each sound effect in Audition then export them separately.

I then added the sounds into the video using Premier Pro. It is quite difficult and I tried to be organized. But all the jumping and instances of lighting orbs is hard to sync with the sounds.

FINAL SUBMISSION

This project is a pain because of the amount of sounds you have to sync with the things happening around the video. Maybe I should've gone through other gameplays slowly but Hollow Knight caught my eye as it's familiar to me, even though I've never played it before.
