Tokyo Trip Reflection

To be honest, I'm not an outgoing person. I prefer to stay in my home sweet home. But when this trip is said to be beneficial for my assignment and a chance to explore the world, I decided to get off my lazy bum and sign up.

The process of preparing the necessary documents and clothing is tedious. I've never handled travel documents before and was worried I might have forgotten something. I've travelled before but it's my parents who dealt with these things for me. It was stressful and I was relieved when I managed to get on the plane to Tokyo.

I've been to Tokyo with my family, but this was my first time travelling with friends and lecturers. It was a whole new experience for me because I get to learn about my classmates in my university and connect with them. For example, some of my classmates have an interest for shoes and bought some during our trip. Personally, I have not much interest in shoes, but I ate a lot there. The food, not shoes.

Of course, we cannot forget our main purpose of this trip - data collection. My group's topic centered around luck and fortune so we went to temples and shrines. The first one we visited was the Sensoji Temple in Asakusa, where we drew omikujis. I'm not superstitious but I became worried when mine says that my "trip get harm on the way", because I accidentally cut my finger that morning.

1.2 My Fortune

Tokyo being Tokyo, there's a lot walking and switching subways. My favourite journey is when we're going to the Gotokuji Temple. I remember that it was raining and the temple was closing. We placed our trust in Google Maps, arguing whether or not we're in the right station. We reached there with five minutes to spare. We should've plan ahead, but I find the journey to be quite an adrenaline rush.

To conclude my experience, I appreciate that our lecturers let us go and explore Tokyo freely as well as checking in on our safety every night. I had fun adventuring with my classmates.
